A Little Edgy
The title of this new body of work, A Little Edgy, reflects the fact that I was a bit nervous about the rather radical departure it represented from my work of the previous six years. Visually, the edge is significant in terms of the overall composition, as well as the fact that each individual area of color embodies energetic marks that are contained by the crisp edges characteristic of scissor-cut collage. These prints echo my life in that they embody a sense of controlled chaos. In addition, when they come off the press I am not always entirely (or at all) sure which way is up. That sense of topsy turviness also reflects my life in the last few years.
